I know that my words here today cannot even begin to express my families experience with Jim. James (Jim) Reidy has given our family an amazing gift - - an opportunity to heal and live life intentionally w/o the chaos that surrounds an alcoholic that is in a tail-spin. We put our trust in this professional and Jim far exceeded my expectations, not only "doing his job," but treating all with empathy/dignity/respect.

Jim has a high emotional IQ. He is a master at reading body language/a room. Two of the ten people who attended the day before the intervention pushed back at the beginning of our pre-meeting for various reasons. Jim respectfully gave them space and ultimately won them over, providing trusted information, being transparent with his business and personal experience, and by being a nice guy all the while being firm in his knowledge of the disease.

Jim is patient. Our prep day was over four hours but instead of feeling overwhelmed/exhausted we left armed with hope and confidence that we could work the game plan flawlessly whatever came our way during the intervention the next morning. Jim is also excellent at constructively coaching you through stressful situations. At 7 p.m. he took a call from me two weeks before the intervention and Jim confirmed that what one of my husband's friends was telling me (and my husband's brothers who were questioning why I was doing this) had no place in our space. I renewed my conviction to give my husband the opportunity to live his best life (and that friend did not attend the intervention; trust Jim, he knows what he is doing).

Jim is resilient. His is a former athlete as is my husband and I believe my husband has a friend for life. Jim coached us up at our premeeting with all kinds of "what if" scenarios. Jim will not give up on you/his mission to get your loved one into treatment. I just spoke with Jim today, two weeks since our successful intervention, and it is clear he is committed to helping others. We are blessed to have him on our team!

We struck out twice trying to find the right treatment center for our 24 year old son. We were determined to find top notch care that would be tailored to his needs. He needed something with a more intimate setting, not a factory. BriteLife was the absolute best decision that we made. It started off with Ryan Osterlof, who made us feel that he truly cared about my family, he called and texted regularly to see how things were.

After weeks of begging and pleading to our son to go treatment, it wasn’t working, we felt defeated and thought an intervention may be the solution. Ryan introduced us to BriteLife’s Interventalist, Jim Reidy. After hearing the care, compassion and education in Jim’s voice, we knew he was the one to get the job done!
My family and I met with Jim the night before the intervention. Jim explained the intervention process from beginning to end, explaining how his reaction may be and how we should react, to writing the bottom-line letter. Jim (James) Reidy is a significant reason why my mother is still here today. When we found him, my mother was a severe alcoholic who wasn't going to be with us much longer if we did not intervene. He came into our family unit, which at the time was very chaotic and complicated, and was able to teach my entire family what addiction was and how we could best help her as her loved ones. It was a Wed evening the 1st time I spoke with Jim Reidy. I had been watching my husband deteriorate through alcohol consumption with an unreasonable belief he would wake up one day and stop. I was naive. Instead he was getting worse. His personality changed and his body was starting to rebel. My husband talked about stopping, but it was just talk to appease me. The fact was that he couldn't without help.

In that 1hr conversation with Jim I felt like someone understood what was happening. I also felt all my fears and feelings validated by this complete stranger on the phone.

The next day Jim and I spoke again to start the green light. Jim jumped right into action. Fast, purposeful and precise. It was terrifying. I made my payment and messaged him "plse dont be a scam" (i dont think will ever let me live that down). Jim directed me to set up an intervention group and kept open communication helping me along the way. With the compassion I needed, Jim constantly checked in and helped me keep the courage and knowledge that the right thing to do is not easy.

Jim worked magic in so many ways throughout the process. He helped me find the courage to do what I knew was right. We had a moment where we thought we would not be able to access the facility we had lined up for my husband, Jim came to the rescue with his network and knowledge. He researched, and made phone calls and found a miracle for my husband - gaining access where we thought the door was closed.

By Saturday our team was assembled and meeting with Jim in person to prepare us for our roles in the intervention. Jim speaks with a high level of passion and compassion. He educated us all and gave us the tools we needed and shared what we all needed to hear and what we didn't want to hear. But it was all the truth and from a place of experience. By the time our friends and family meeting was over we all knew our roles and were prepared for the best worst scenarios.

Sunday, at 7am the whole crew drove up our driveway led by Jim. I had managed to keep my husband away from his bottle since the night before so we would have the best part of him. Jim got my husband's attention and guided us as we all read our letters. Once completed Jim very directly spoke to my husband about addiction and love, asking if my husband would be willing to accept and thankfully he agreed to get help. On his way to the airport he still denied his problem, but he was headed to the right place to get it.

Thanks to Jim I now have hope for the future.

Two years ago, my family was in crisis. Someone very dear to me revealed she was wrestling with addiction and was ready to get help. I turned to Jimmy, who I knew from the gym where I’d seen him stop his workout countless times to take emergency calls from families like mine.

Jimmy jumped into action, getting her into a top-notch rehab immediately - which she soon walked out of. Fortunately she still wanted help…just somewhere else. So Jimmy got her into another rehab right away. She left that one too. Jimmy worked his magic a third time, but again she left. She was torn between admitting and refusing that she needed help. Undeterred, Jimmy got her into a fourth rehab, and thankfully it was the last.

People who are at rock bottom are not easy to deal with. Their family members, desperate and scared, are not easy to deal with. Yet at every step, Jimmy was compassionate and professional, coaching us on what to expect and encouraging us to keep our heads up.

Last week my family member celebrated two years of sobriety. She is herself again. We are thankful every day that we have her back, and that she had the strength to conquer her addiction.

If you are considering an intervention for a loved one, Jim is your guy! The people that referred us to him said he was the best in the business and they were not wrong! He had so much compassion for my family, education about addiction and mental illness, and I don't have enough words to express how happy I am to have met him. He flew to us in Chicago on a Friday morning and spent hours talking with us about our situation and making a plan for intervention. He prepared us the process could take hours or even days, thankfully when we intervened the next morning my dad agreed to go to treatment in just 45 minutes! While he has a high success rate in getting someone to agree to treatment, he did prepare us for multiple outcomes and possibilities. I'm confident that the money spent would still be worth the attempt even if my dad didn't agree. However, if my dad agreed there's a good chance your loved one with too 🙏❤️ I will never be able to thank Jim enough!

He is one of the best interventionist I have ever worked with over the years. He is always professional, reasonable, courteous, responsive, and respectful with the families I have referred to him. I would like to also add that for me personally he has had a 100% success rate with the people I’ve connected him with.
