When the Family Heals, Your Loved One Has a Real Chance

If you are reading this, someone you love is in trouble. You may check on them at night to make sure they are breathing. You may dread every phone call. You are tired, scared and out of ideas.

A family addiction intervention is built for exactly this moment. However, it is not a magic wand. There is no pixie dust and no hocus pocus. Instead, it is a process. In the end, it works best when the whole family gets better together.

I Have Lived on the Other Side of This

My name is Jim Reidy. I am a Certified Intervention Professional, CIP #10266. 15+ years, I have led 750+ documented interventions. You may also have seen me on A&E's Intervention, Season 20.

But before any of that, I was the person my family worried about. For years, I struggled with alcohol and cocaine. Then, on March 4, 2006, I got sober. That was 20 years ago.

So I know the pain your loved one is in. I also know the pain you are in. I remember what my addiction did to the people who loved me. That memory is why I do this work.

One Mother's Story

Recently, a mother called us about her 19-year-old daughter. For seven years, her daughter had struggled with addiction and mental health problems. There had been treatment stays, relapses and three overdoses.

Jen McDonough and I worked alongside her family for four weeks. Afterward, the mother wrote a review and posted it on Google. In her words, this was the turning point:

"He gave me the strength to do what I have not been able to do yet, stop enabling my daughter."

Once Mom stopped supporting the addiction, her daughter began to see that treatment was her best option. Still, she resisted. So Jen flew across the country and spent hours preparing the family. The next day, they walked into the daughter's apartment together.

"Jen was calm and cool and literally convinced her to pack her bag and go."

Today, that young woman is in treatment. As her mother put it, "Without them my daughter would not be in treatment getting the help she so desperately needs." You can read more family stories on our Reviews page.

What a Family Addiction Intervention Really Is

An intervention is not therapy, and it is not treatment. Nobody gets cured in one afternoon in the living room.

Instead, an intervention has one job. It brings your loved one through the doors of duly accredited treatment. That is where the real work begins.

Here is what that looks like with Intervention 365:

  • You speak directly with one of our three interventionists. There is no call center.
  • We come to your home and educate the whole family.
  • We coach you to stop enabling, one hard step at a time.
  • We line up an accredited treatment bed before intervention day.
  • We stay in the pit with you until your loved one walks through those doors.

Why the Family's Healing Matters So Much

Addiction does not live in one person. It moves through the whole household. Over time, everyone adapts to it. Parents rescue. Siblings go quiet. Spouses cover.

So when the family changes, the addiction loses its footing. When everyone pulls on the rope in the same direction, your loved one feels it.

It does not have to be perfect. In fact, it never is. But if everybody grows and everybody heals, your loved one has a much better chance of getting better too. And there is an opportunity for all of you to step out into the light.

Take the First Step Today

You do not have to carry this alone. Call me directly, and we will talk privately about a family addiction intervention for your loved one.
